These photos were sent to me by the owner of this rare car, Jason Edwards.
He also sent the following infos about the car:
Its a X Works X1 Concept car based on a Mitsubishi Evo and it was built by XWorks and Ralliart UK in 2004.
It has a carbon fibre monocoque, with grp panels. No one was doing vacuum formed carbon fibre back then
so this was one of the first cars to use that; McLaren road cars used the technique many years later, around 2015.
The owner was told by one of the guys involved that XWorks build that the information learnt about carbon fibre
was thenl shared with Mclaren.
At the time, XWorks were sub contracted to Prodrive, to make their composites for the Subaru rally team. They got
wind of x1... and then 2 years later, the Prodrive P2 appeared in 2006. The P2 was a hastily built car, with a steel
chassis from a Subaru R1 kei car, with a carbon shell dumped on top. In contrast, the X1 was carfefully planned.
The chassis was designed in the UK and built in Istanbul. Its had around 1500-2000 hrs of track time to work on
handling, which was done by Ralliart.
